What Precautions should one take while facing an Online interview


 

A new hazard that we are facing right now is online interview. Attending an online class for chatting with the friends online is completely different from and online interview the difference is that here a candidate's evaluation depends to a great extent on certain factors beyond their performance in the interview in an online interview there are certain limitations :

 Although the technology has enabled us to avail a face to face meeting sitting at the homely comfort however  we need to be alert regarding many small small aspects that might be detrimental in case we don't pay attention to these apparently minute issues the result might be dangerous even it may  lead to  one's rejection in the interview process .





 For a successful online interview it is mandatory for both the interviewer and interviewee to be able to listen to each other clearly so  we should use quality electronic devices in order to ensure proper audibility our microphones should be proper so that the listeners do not have any concern regarding smooth listening and at the same time the speaker should also so be rest assured that he should be calm and cool to concentrate in in his answers in stead of thinking whether he is sufficiently audible or go on asking "am I audible" again and again which is  undoubtedly and irritating activity specially during an interview process moreover here internet connectivity plays a very important role if your connectivity is not proper and one gets disconnected repeatedly it might create a kind of irritation in the mind of the interviewer even it can mentally disturb the interviewee affecting his or her performance so internet connectivity should be proper with high speed. We use different Service Platforms for online meeting , We should be well acquainted with that platform so that during the meeting there should not be any kind of confusion which can hamper our performance moreover we need to make sure that we should select such a  location for the interview which should be as far as practicable free from outside noise mostly we appear for an interview from our home where the other members do their work, so they should not in anyways disturb our communication knowingly or unknowingly moreover our background should be proper and our looks should be professional although we are going to appear for an interview from the cozy comfort of our home but a touch of  unprofessionalism should not reflect in our appearance our body language facial expression or in the grooming part ,Our dress should be professional and we should comb our hair decently. In our way of speaking also there should be adequate touch of professionalism we should also be careful that we should sit in such a position where our face should be clearly visible there should be adequate light and preferably a wall at the background we should try to avoid a location close to the roads or water taps where from there is a possibility of getting disturbed

we should not take these online interviews in a casual manner and should not consume even a cup of tea during the interview process we should neither keep ourselves mute not talk to someone else at the time of interview or receive any phone call. We must not forget that due to pandemic situation both the interviewer and interviewee are forced to perform in the interview in a virtual platform but during the process of evaluation only the performance of the interviewee will matter and in case of online interview the process becomes even more crucial both for the interviewer and interviewee. It is not very easy job for an interviewer to to analyze the performance of an interviewee in an online platform because many of the facial and body language can't be measured properly by an  user of these online platform who is not very much habituated with this platform although the possibility of good performance accelerates in case a person is appearing for an interview from the homely comfort because normally a person should be confident but in reality sometimes it is seen  that the interviewee is even more nervous in case of online interview process because he or she is not well acquainted with the system moreover punctuality plays a very important role in this kind of online interview if one tries to create an image of a professional being in the mind of an interviewer one has to be punctual in terms of joining the interview . There might be a possibility of technical difficulty so one must join and interview in the online platform at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time so that in case the interviewee faces some problem he gets adequate time to rectify the problem generally the interviewers  are very busy so we must respect their time finally I want to highlight a very important aspect that is an optimistic presence by this phrase I mean the interviewee should not look morose or disappointed there are thousands of reason to lose hope specially due to Covid pandemic some of our family members might be ill or  after losing many opportunity, we might be mentally upset but this should not get exposed in our facial expression .We must remember that and enthusiastic appearance is the only tool to positively influence the interviewer to take decision in favour of ourselves in case of online interview...
